In depth

Verdict

A wide-open handicap here and many would have chances on their best form but the principals look to be Intrepid Jack, Gimasha and Pike Bishop, with the vote going to Intrepid Jack. The selection won well last time out when beating My Gaucho, and although he is rising in the weights, he is unexposed and has plenty of scope for improvement and he will be hard to beat under conditions that suit. Gimasha rates the main danger as she has also been in good form of late and won well last time out when beating Princely Vale. However, that form has since been let down and, off this higher mark, she looks vulnerable. Pike Bishop is another with place claims on his latest second behind Maltese Falcon but he has yet to prove he stays this far and, for that reason, is passed over on this occasion. Of the remainder, The Crooked Ring and Marching Song are game and consistent and are sure to run their races but look weighted up to their best and for the winner we return to the unexposed Intrepid Jack.
