Verdict
Unless Luca Cumani's son of Theatrical Newnham proves to be out of the ordinary, this should go to Sea Nymph, who is preferred to Paintbox. The last mentioned finished last of six on her debut at Ascot but should do better with that run under her belt. James Given's Magari has shown signs of ability in both starts so far, while Gay Kelleway's Corbel has finished in the frame in all three outings to date but only one start at three and a belated reappearance now at the age of four suggests that she may have had her problems. The booking of Frankie Dettori for Second Warning takes the eye but Declan Daly's colt has shown very little so far and of more interest may be the William Haggas-trained Spes Bona. Darryll Holland's mount stepped up on his debut effort when fourth at Ripon last month and should improve further. The vote though goes to Sea Nymph. Sir Michael Stoute's filly is related to some useful types including Hellenic, Islington and Greek Dance and should improve with racing and age. She has already shown enough to suggest that the opposition here should hold no fears and Sea Nymph is taken to open her account at the third time of asking before going on to better things.
