Verdict

With only half of these having seen a race course before, the market needs a close watch for those being backed or swerved, but we'll side with experience in the form of GENE AUTRY, in preference to stable-mate Bush Master and Bonheurs Art. Gene Autry looks the pick of the two Hannon runners, and has finished just out of the places in two runs to date. A drop in class and trip looks to be a positive move for him. Bush Master is more experienced, and the only runner with an official mark, but it's only 66. Second last time out when tried on the Polytrack, stepping down a furlong could be the solution to getting him win, as he was looking the winner until collared late on. A likely front runner, further improvement could be enough to see him land the spoils. Bonheurs Art showed up well on debut in a better race than this, and has a couple of fancy entries for later in the year. She cost ¿90,000 and her dam has already produced several juvenile winners, and she's entitled to come on for her Goodwood run. Support for any of the debutantes could be significant, particularly Antoella as she's Ian Williams' only runner on the card. However, our preference is for Gene Autry.
