          Verdict

          Sandown winner Diego Cao seemed not to appreciate the cut in the ground here last time and is worth another chance in a race where the main dangers look to be Patterdale and Street Life. The last mentioned has recorded all three of his career wins over this course and distance so has to be respected but would want a softer surface to show his best form. Stablemate Cruise Director faces no easy task under the burden of 9st 7lb and a bigger threat may come from Arry Dash. Mick Channon's gelding has run well off similar marks this summer and is a consistent type so should be thereabouts again but may once more have to settle for as minor role. With Jeremy Noseda's stable in such good form at present Burning Moon has to be respected although a bigger threat may come from Patterdale. The William Haggas-trained gelding has slipped to a fair mark now and showed enough in a Pontefract claimer over a mile last time to suggest that a step up in trip may suit. Not Amused and Space Cowboy may be of interest on their first run of the campaign but preference is for a stablemate of the last mentioned Diego Cao. Gary Moore's French import made a pleasing British debut when landing a Sandown handicap over this trip, staying on well to beat Go Tech by half-a-length. The softer surface rather than the rise in the weights seemed to be a more valid reason for a disappointing display here last time on his only subsequent start and, back on faster ground, Diego Cao is given another chance.
