In depth

Verdict

The much travelled AROD (NAP) was having only his second start for David Simcock when just missing out over 7f at Kempton to Jallota, rated 110. This extra distance is not a problem and he’ll go close with a similar effort. Both Hors De Combat and Oh This Is Us won tough handicaps at Meydan earlier this year and the latter is preferred to stablemate Khafoo Shememi, who was well beaten in a Group 2 at Sandown recently along with Mr Owen and Sovereign Debt. Ruth Carr’s charge has every chance if rediscovering the sparkling form that saw him notch-up a hat-trick last year but Via Via looks up against it.
