Verdict
In a race in which not too many can be given chances, we will take on the likely favourite Spectait with Pink Bay, with Mangrove Cay, Depressed and Edge Of Italy also given chances. The selection acquitted herself well when fourth on her debut and, while the bare form of that needs to be built upon, it would be a surprise if she was not able to do just that. Mind you, the same can be said of the Sir Mark Prescott-trained Spectait, who was looked after on heavy going at Chepstow over seven furlongs on his debut but showed a good deal of promise. With his stable in such cracking form, he is likely to prove a warm order. Others to consider are disappointing Musselburgh fourth Mangrove Cay, who surely has ability, given that he was well supported on that occasion, Depressed, who showed promised on his debut, and Edge Of Italy, who stepped up on her debut to finish fourth at Bath last time. Of the others, My Rascal is probably better than he has so far shown but, once again, for a sporting selection we will opt for Pink Bay.
