In depth
Verdict
This is very open but the vote goes to Summer Shades, with Almond Willow, Hazewind, Riska King and Vonadaisy being others to consider. The selection has the advantages of being a course and distance winner who is racing from a competitive mark. Much as she has not shown her best form on the Polytrack, the booking of Kieren Fallon offsets that as another positive. Almond Willow is also a course and distance winner and, being lightly raced, has to be given a chance, while Vonadaisy is also lightly raced and, having run well at York last time, also warrants consideration. Charlie Tango is closely weighted with Almond Willow on York runs, while Riska King holds a chance based on his Turf form and probably acts on Polytrack. Hazewind won from a mark of 65 at York last time and, with his rider taking off three pounds, can also run his race. As we say, it's open but the vote, once again, goes to Summer Shades.
