      Verdict

This is the most competitive race on the card and preference is for Lockstock who is narrowly preferred to Certain Justice, Polar Sun and Blue Empire. Lockstock is in good form and he ran well last time over 7f at Lingfield when finishing fourth behind Primo Way. He is better over this slightly longer trip and if he can run up to his recent level of form then he will have a leading chance. Certain Justice is interesting as he won well last time at Southwell when beating Musical Gift. That was first run for 6 months and if he comes on for that effort then he will not be far away at the finish. Polar Sun is unexposed and he should be suited by this longer trip and a watching brief on the market is advised for James Fanshawe's four-year-old on his seasonal reappearance. Blue Empire is in decent form and is more than capable of getting competitive in this grade, so he is another with claims but for the winner we will stick with Lockstock.
