In depth

Verdict

BLACK RAIN is put forwards in the hope that the market speaks in his favour. If not, Wind Flow and My Mate Mal have pretty solid claims whilst Dubburg looks interesting. Black Rain finished second over course and distance just under a year ago from a 6lb higher mark than he lines up on today. That was also the last time that he raced over this trip and, although, he's been struggling for his new yard it may well be worth taking the chance with the yard back amongst the winners. Wind Flow has been running well without winning and the handicapper has responded realistically which means that he should be right in the thick of the action again. My Mate Mal comes here on the back of a good run over course and distance but this contest may just be a little stronger so he could have his work cut out to go one better. Moonshine Creek has claims, Spiritual Treasure and Great Bounder are worth monitoring for support as is Dubburg who may well appreciate his first run over this trip as he shaped quite well last time and has dropped to a distinctly workable mark. That is also true of Black Rain who is marginally preferred with stamina guaranteed.
