Verdict
In this handicap, we have shortlisted Stage Secret, Zoom Zoom, Distant Country and Tuscarora, with the vote going to Distant Country. Looking at what we see as the principals then the lightly-raced Stage Secret looks reasonably weighted and, even off topweight, can't be discounted. As course and distance winners, Stoic Leader, Roman Maze and Zoom Zoom will all have supporters but they will all need career-best all-weather efforts to score, although Zoom Zoom is well weighted on the best of his Turf form, and Distant Country, who is one pound better off for the short head and head he finished behind Stoic Leader over course and distance last time, is capable of going close and it is only a matter of time before he gets his head in front. We will take the hopeful view that it will be today. Tuscarora is also a course and distance winner, and her rider's seven-pound claim will help her cause, while Marshallspark holds claims on the best of his Turf form but, while Ever Cheerful comes here on the back of a win, he has never won at this trip. That's the summary then, with the vote going to Distant Country
