Verdict
An interesting race sees Bailey's Honour, Sea Map, Shaheer, Bongoali and Slip Catch on the shortlist, with the vote going to Bailey's Honour. Spinning through the filed and Eskdale's Turf form puts him firmly in the mix and he has to be considered even though his all-weather debut at Southwell last time was inauspicious. Lefonic showed some promise on his Lingfield debut and the eighth from that race came out and won last week. However, Sea Lark was three lengths ahead of him on that occasion but, that said, Bailey's Honour was half-a-length ahead of Sea Lark and was noted making good late headway. As such, we think he can confirm the form. If Sea Opal matches on this surface the form of her debut third at Redcar in November, then she should go very well. Sea Map arguably showed his best form to date when third in a nursery here over a shorter trip so certainly has place claims, while Brian Meehan's Shaheer has certainly shown enough to warrant a strong mention in a modest heat. Bongoali has also shown enough, including on this surface, to suggest that she should be in the mix, and is probably a good benchmark to the value of the form. Slip Catch has to be of interest with Kieren Fallon booked as she improved on this surface for the step up in trip last time, and Starcross Maid can be forgiven her debut run as her saddle slipped. Finally, Vocative finished in good style here on her last run and is another possible in terms of playing a part in this contest. Fairly low-grade it might be but it is still interesting, with the vote going to Bailey's Honour
