Verdict
Magic Amico gets the nod here ahead of Aliba and Andaluza. The selection showed respectable juvenile form, his best effort from five runs being a runner-up spot in a 16-runner Ascot maiden. That appears to set the form benchmark in assessing this contest and, despite the fact that he has not raced for 223 days, the booking of Darryll Holland reads as a positive point. A half-brother to numerous winners, Carry On Doc should improve this year after showing promise at two, while Andaluza is fully entitled to improve on a fair fourth at Lingfield on her debut over a furlong-shorter trip and is another to consider. Aliba also showed promise in three juvenile starts and is sure to appreciate the step up to seven furlongs now, while Paul Cole's Marksgold has shown little so far and the 30,000 guineas purchase, Nounou was well held on his debut run. It's quite an interesting affair in its way and we reckon it will be won by Magic Amico.
