In depth

Verdict

Hermocrates got his head in front at the line over course and distance in January and an apprentice’s allowance negates a 4lb rise in the weights. But COLONY QUEEN is preferred despite having faded badly in the closing stages when upped in distance at Newcastle last time as she’d earlier won over track and trip and went close again over 1m2f at Chelmsford after that. James Tate’s filly looks worth another chance on that form. Image Of The Moon, Dancing Jo and Canford Dancer were all placed over shorter trips on their respective latest starts with the latter making most appeal handicapping for the first time but Sir Ox recorded his earlier double over a mile and remains 7lb higher.
