Verdict
A couple of four-year-olds are expected to show further progress this year with CRYSTAL KING (NAP) preferred to Sleeping Lion. Sir Michael Stoute’s charge showed a marked improvement on his first start as a gelding when scoring easily at Leicester in October and there looks more to come over this longer trip. Sleeping Lion landed a double last summer and has been gelded subsequently. Headgear is also applied as he returns to action but Dr Richard Kimble is fit from hurdling having won three times on the Flat last year, though he remains 5lb higher than when last successful. Inn The Bull should be sharper for a recent outing but it’s been some time since the winning hurdler and chaser All Set To Go has raced under this code.
