In depth

Verdict

Another large turnout here, but this is best left to Marrel, with Keep The Peace, Sturm Und Drang and Tern Intern interesting opponents to the likely favourite. Marrel is head and shoulders above the exposed horses here, having opened his account at Cartmel. That was a step up on his previous second, and despite the penalty, he should improve again. Sturm Und Drang was well beaten at Chepstow last time but had earlier run a sound second at the Welsh track in novice company. Keep The Peace makes his debut over hurdles, having been no great shakes on the Flat, but showed a modicum of ability when second at Salisbury a couple of years ago. Maybe the switch to hurdles will revitalise him. Tern Intern has been a bitter disappointment on the level, but led the field for 10 furlongs on his last start at Newmarket, and he is another who may be sweetened up by the transition to jumping.
