In depth

Sussex-based trainer Lady Herries is a rare visitor to Worcester but GENEVA GEYSER is fancied to make the trip worthwhile. A fair sort on the Flat, he made a smooth transition to hurdling when scoring on his debut over this trip at Fontwell and looks worth following this summer. The five-year-old can get the better of Uttoxeter winner Carabinier and has more scope than Dave Richards' mare Another Kate, who took five attempts to get off the mark over hurdles. Former pointer Mercury Bay has shown promise under Rules but may need more time.

Carabinier (FR) 15-8 (11-0) Led until 2nd, led 6th, ridden clear last, eased towards finish, won at Uttoxeter 2m NH mdn hdl (5) gd in Jun beating Tarn Hows (11-0) by 8l, 5 ran.

Geneva Geyser (GER) 3-1 (10-12) Took keen hold, held up in last trio, smooth headway before 7th, tracked leader soon after, good jump to lead 2 out, soon clear, very easily, won at Fontwell 2m 4f nh nov hdl (4) gf in Jun beating Green Mining (11-5) by 9l, 8 ran.

Another Kate (IRE) 5-1 (10-10) Took keen hold early, chased leader, led and not fluent 3 out, 3 lengths ahead last, looked to idle flat, stayed on well and in command, won at Hereford 2m 4f mrs hcp hdl 0-115 (4) gd in Jun beating Am I Blue (11-7) by 3l, 8 ran.

Comrade Bob 20-1 (10-12) Always behind, 6th of 11, 42l behind Layla's Dancer (10-9) at Uttoxeter 2m nh nov hdl (4) gd in Jun.

Grindy (IRE) 25-1 (10-12) Chased leader until after 2nd, settled in 3rd, weakened 3 out, 5th of 6, 30l behind Mike Towey (10-12) at Ffos Las 2m 6f nh nov hdl (4) gf in May.

Mercury Bay (IRE) 11-8fav (10-12) Tracked leading pair, slow 7th, challenged 3 out, outpaced approaching last, 3rd of 6, 11l behind Mike Towey (10-12) at Ffos Las 2m 6f nh nov hdl (4) gf in May.

Mezarat (ITY) 18-1 (10-7) Held up in 5th, not fluent 3rd, headway 6th, weakened approaching 3 out, mistake 2 out, 4th of 7, 22l behind Baraathen (10-10) at Uttoxeter 2m 4f mdn hdl (4) gf in Jun.

Trepalo (FR) 20-1 (10-5) Held up in rear, hampered 2nd, pushed along 4 out, never dangerous, last of 9, well behind Ladies Best (10-9) at Exeter 2m 1f mdn hdl (4) fm in May.
