Verdict
Not the most inspiring of contests to begin proceedings at Worcester with 18 largely moderate and out of form horses lining up. One exception is the Simon Lewis-trained Final Lap, who put previous form behind him when opening his account at Stratford at the beginning of the month. Although the six-year-old has a 6lb penalty to shoulder for that success a reproduction of his running eight days ago should suffice. Martin Pipe's Baclama has the ability to win off her current mark but has disappointed recently and may ideally prefer further, while Arm And A Leg was in the process of running a good race here over 2m4f on Saturday before falling at the last. If none the worse for those efforts, and granted a clear round, he should be thereabouts. Zaidaan, a course and distance winner in June, failed to show a similar level of form at Uttoxeter on his next start but should not be discounted, a comment that also applies to the inconsistent, but capable, Weet And See.
