In depth

Verdict

Treasury Counsel can give Nicky Henderson the second leg of the bumper, with Cheer Us On and Very Cool the main dangers. The finale does not look as strong as the race it follows and should be well within the scope of Treasury Counsel who stayed on nicely when third on his Newbury debut in March. Related to winners in Ireland, the son of Leading Counsel can take this before making a name for himself over hurdles. Cheer Us On has a penalty to overcome but revealed some ability when scoring at Ludlow a fortnight ago, so is entitled to be on the premises along with Very Cool, a son of Sir Harry Lewis who is related to plenty of winners as well. It will not be long before the name David Pipe is feared as much as his father, and he should be noted in the market as should Etoilerouge, although he has an absence to overcome. Treasury Counsel is the final selection.
