Balkinstown has gone well fresh in the past so an absence since November is not overly concerning, though he does look a few pounds too high. Cottonvale went close at Ludlow last time but struggles to stay this far while North Star Oscar is proving a disappointment over timber. SANDY BOY was staying on behind Sirobbie at Uttoxeter and is only a pound higher so Richard Johnson’s mount, second earlier at Stratford, is fancied to open his account this evening. Neither Stonemadforspeed nor Mount Vesuvius are getting any younger.
