Verdict

Easily the best of these over hurdles, Golden Rambler is taken to make a winning start to his chasing career and gets the vote over Silver Samuel and Jim Jam Joey. The selection was rated 120 over timber and a translation of his hurdles form to the larger obstacles should suffice against some moderate opposition. Silver Samuel has yet to show any worthwhile form over fences but did at least win a novice hurdle over hurdles, while Jim Jam Joey, a faller on his only previous start in a novice chase four years ago, makes a belated return to steeple chasing now. Gallik Dawn has hinted at ability over timber but makes only marginally more appeal than Finches Lane and Nomadic Ice in a race that should go to Golden Rambler.
