The Paul Nicholls-trained Blushing Bull has shown enough in three starts in bumpers to suggest that this is well within his compass and the son of Makbul is preferred to another experienced rival Lord Olympia and Hey Boy. The last mentioned hails from the in-form stable of Charlie Mann and ran with promise on his debut in this grade. He has to be respected along with the Venetia Williams-trained Lord Olympia, who has run to a similar level of form in all three starts so far. Jim Old's Captain Aubrey makes plenty of appeal on pedigree, while In Accord and Ten Pressed Men are both open to improvement and have to be respected, but the vote goes to Blushing Bull. The selection has run well in all three of his starts, latterly when chasing home Callmecozmo at Chepstow, will have no problems with the underfoot conditions and is taken to gain an overdue success.
