        Verdict

        This is quite a competitive affair with Mr Malarkey, Fort McHenry, Currency and Yomalo shortlisted with the vote going to Mr Malarkey. The selection did well last season, winning from a mark of 76 at Kempton in June. Much as he has yet to register a win this time around, he has been competing well and now races from a rating of 77. However, he can hardly be called a confident selection as Currency, who was 11th in a competitive sprint at Goodwood on Saturday, is now rated two pounds lower than for his Salisbury win last June; Fort McHenry, who is back to the mark from which he won last August, and Yomalo, who comes here following a fair Leicester run and is now just two pounds above a mark from which we know he can win, all have to be given chances. There will be supporters too for Mistral Sky, although he has to shoulder a penalty for a narrow Leicester win, and Tancred Times will both attract support, even though the latter's two wins from his last four races have come at claiming and selling level. Overall, though, we will stick with Mr Malarkey.
