Verdict
Tyneham can take this opener from Eastern Hope and J R Stevenson. The soft ground will suit Bill Turner's colt, who won with cut at Doncaster a couple of seasons ago, and also on the notoriously slow fibresand at Wolverhampton last time. He won that day with a shade more in hand than the official margin suggested and he can follow up here, with the drop back in trip looking no real problem. Eastern Hope is another proven performer with cut in the ground and stayed on well to land a Newcastle claimer with cut last time. The gelding has to give 8lb to the selection here and that could prove to be his undoing. Kieren Fallon is booked for J R Stevenson for the first time in over two seasons. The Michael Wigham-trained gelding has performed on this sort of surface in the past, although he would arguably prefer it faster. However, he has now got a great chance of returning to form from a mark some way below his latest win and his chance is very much respected with Fallon on board. Even so, Tyneham's win last time suggested he could go in again and we take him for this opener.
