        Verdict

        CLERICAL is a speculative selection to land an ordinary handicap. Miglori, Choisharp and Silca Meydan complete the shortlist. Silca Meydan is starting to get the hang of things and, having shaped as if this sort of trip is the bare minimum for him, he should at least cope with stepping up to six furlongs again. However, this is his turf debut, so he needs to prove he can handle the surface. Choisharp has made the frame in each of his last three starts and deserves a change of fortune. However, the handicapper seems to have his measure and he needs everything to go right for him from top weight. Miglori won't be inconvenienced by any give underfoot and starts his handicapping career on a fair mark. Market confidence in the Marco Botti-trained colt would be dangerous to ignore. However, Clerical showed up nicely on his reappearance last month and, as he has little to find at this level, Robert Cowell's charge is taken to give us a solid run for the money at a fair price.
