Verdict
An ordinary event can go to Smiddy Hill, whose York win is marginally stronger form than the rest have to their names and gets the majority verdict over High Chart and Evanesce , who have at least managed to win a race so far and head the list of dangers. However, a cautious eye should be focused on the activities surrounding Farthing as she is a half-sister to juvenile winner Tidy, who ran up a nice little sequence as a juvenile but did need a couple of runs to put her straight. Nevertheless, Giles Bravery's representative would not need to be anything special to have an impact here. High Chart holds a slender advantage over Evanesce on a line through Siena Gold and is expected to put up the most resistance to the selection. The George Margarson-trained daughter of Robelino was found out in the Queen Mary last time and drops to a more realistic level today. But her form has dipped since her winning debut and is taken on with Smiddy Hill today. Royston Ffrench is back in the plate aboard the daughter of Factual and, assuming that he adopts more patient tactics in the saddle, Smiddy Hill does not have much to find to come good again in this company.
