All of these are trained in the north bar Roulston Scar, who has a tremendous reappearance record and a course and distance success to his credit and is just 2lb higher than his last winning mark. Tim Easterby has four entries, two of them winners last time with seven-times winner Staxton possibly the best of them though he's 0-10 on the track. Kevin Ryan has three entries and all are potential winners, especially Hey Jonesy if he can repeat the form shown when landing last year's Wokingham. Stable companion Bielsa started favourite for the Ascot race and would be fancied if there is more rain. Soldier's Minute has a good record here, including winning this in 2019, while Gulliver had several of these behind when landing the Coral Sprint Trophy here in October and, though out of form on the all-weather this winter, can now race from 2lb lower. WOVEN won two good races for David Simcock, including one here. He made a very encouraging start for Michael Dods at Redcar and gets the nod to go one better.
