In depth

Verdict

RIFLEMAN (NAP) landed a novices' contest at Kempton in November and was in the process of making a race of it with Namoos in the Esher Cup at Sandown when he swerved and unshipped Ryan Moore. His temperament is an obvious concern but he's probably well up to this grade. Huddleston Mac looked a nice prospect when scoring at Sandown in August and pulled much too hard on his reappearance in a Group 3 at Newbury. Sadiqaa made a successful debut at Leicester last July so the lack of a run won't be a problem while Bowman arrives in top form having won a Class 4 handicap on the Polytrack at Lingfield, though this is much tougher. Wobwobwob won a Class 2 Newmarket handicap in September on soft ground so the more rain the better.
