Verdict

Paul Midgley arrives mob-handed in this finale with Start Time potentially the best treated of his quartet, though Doncaster runner-up Buccaneers Vault can’t be left out of calculations. With the rain continuing to fall, Haydock winner John Kirkup should be thereabouts again but this trip has proved troublesome in the past for East Street Revue. Seen The Lyte has every chance as she’s in decent form and is only a pound higher than when scoring on a similar surface at Doncaster last year but we’ll take a chance on CARTMELL CLEAVE. Ruth Carr has a knack of reviving sprinters and there has been plenty of encouragement in the seven-year-old’s three runs for the yard. Dropped a couple of pounds, he’s on an attractive mark though may encounter traffic problems from a stands’ side draw.
