In depth
Verdict
Sharmy is well regarded by the Ian Williams camp and the trainer reportedly suggested that he is a certain winner over timber. We'll take his word for it and award him the mantle of TEAMtalk's selection for the first race. Porak is bound to be racefit after a campaign on the flat. Gary Moore's gelding is arguably better on a softer surface and at the time of writing, he does not look to have the ground to his liking. Tony McCoy has an excellent record when riding for the Von Der Recke team and Translucid is their representative. He failed on his first effort over hurdles in France but the market is best watched. Backbeat has a couple of interesting bumper runs to his credit but was put in his place by First Love at Sandown last season.
