Verdict
Plenty of unknown quantities in a race that is sure to prove most informative with many top yards represented. Sir Michael Stoute introduces the well-bred Lynx who is out of a former Nell Gwyn heroine and related to many winners both here and abroad. The daughter of Linamix could easily prove good enough and the market will provide a valuable guide. Roger Charlton appears to hold a strong hand as the in-form Beckhampton handler saddles both an interesting newcomer in the shape of Easter parade and the once-raced Elegant Shadow. The latter ran promisingly when a staying-on sixth of 16 in a Leicester maiden last month and is entitled to be sharper for the outing. Aljazeera and Sight Screen are others open to further progress and should be thereabouts but TEAMtalk preference is for Golden Heart. David Elsworth's filly is the most exposed but sets a fair standard having shown a useful level of form in similar company of late. The daughter of Salse stays further so shouldn't be inconvenienced by softening conditions making this a stamina test and looks the safest option in a tricky opener.
