Verdict

Mark Johnston has a fine record in this race having saddled three winners in the last 10 years and the Middleham handler is doubly represented by Amundsen and Double Mystery. The former lifted a Redcar maiden in good style in September while the last-named was a promising runner-up at the same venue last month. Both should appreciate the step up in trip and can make an impact while Forest Magic is progressing along the right lines and enters calculations following a decisive Nottingham victory last month. Redspin and Irish challenger New Currency are others who come here in winning form and are respected but the TEAMtalk vote goes to Allergy. Roger Charlton's daughter of Alzao looks ready for a step up in distance as she needed every yard of the one-mile trip to prevail at Leicester last month. Proven in testing conditions and sure to improve further, Allergy appears to have plenty in her favour.
