If anything drops out and Mana D'rgent makes the line-up here then the complexion of this race may change, but from those declared Double Obsession has a good chance of taking this, with Dorothy's Friend and Penny Pictures others to consider. The selection is due to go up 10lb very soon and goes very well over these extreme trips. The four-year-old took the Ascot Stakes over two-and-a-half miles at the Royal meeting and had not been far away in two subsequent starts, so it can pay to side with the Sadler's Wells colt, who will not mind the cut in the ground. Dorothy's Friend receives a useful half a stone here from the selection and at 4lb worse off for a two length beating of Double Obsession here last month, there will not be much between the pair, but strictly on the book he may just be found wanting, especially on this surface. Penny Pictures steps up in class here and has a fair bit to find with the selection on their running in the Ascot Stakes, though he could be involved in a scrap minors, so we are happy to stick with Double Obsession to take this.
