Verdict

Hayley Turner won this last year on VIA SERENDIPITY and it's regular UAE champion jockey Tadhg O'Shea's turn today. Stuart Williams' charge runs from exactly the same mark and is 9lb higher on the all-weather. Nicholas T has been in superb form at Ayr, winning three times and just beaten in another last month, though this is a slightly better contest. The lightly-raced and progressive Power of Darkness looks a major threat after gaining his third victory from seven starts is a Class 2 handicap at Salisbury and his young jockey has been riding winners in the north. Another Batt, a close fourth in the Balmoral Handicap here last year, has joined Richard Hughes and ran very well again on the track last time. Any rain would aid his cause while War Glory goes for the in-form Hannon yard, though is better on the all-weather.
