Verdict
FLORESTANS MATCH sets a clear standard amongst those to have raced and is fancied to get off the mark, possibly at the expense of newcomers Jahanara and White Moonstone. Ralph Beckett's filly made an eye-catching debut behind two horses to have won since and was accordingly well backed to get off the mark at Newbury. Having travelled well throughout that contest she simply found one too good and while support for a newcomer here would concern us, she has the form to be winning a contest like this one. Jahanara is a half-sister to Cavalryman, a horse placed in the Arc, and her bloodlines generally suggest this trip will be sharp enough even at this stage. That said, Richard Hannon continues to fire in juvenile winners and support would be worth noting. White Moonstone is another who will get further in time but there's speed in the dam's side of the pedigree and she can't be ignored. Of the others to have raced Layla Jamil makes most appeal for a yard that has won this twice in the last decade. She should be sharper for her Newmarket debut and as a half-sister to a sprint winner enters calculations. Queen's Silk looks the yard's second-string but check the market to confirm that, Candys Girl represents a yard who show a profitable record with juveniles here over the past five years while Sodashy showed ability on debut and is open to improvement. Florestans Match gets the vote in a tight maiden.
