      Verdict

JORDAURA gets the vote to land a competitive finale, with the likes of Avonrose, First Post and Habshan all considered. Our selection has caught the eye more than once this season and indeed did so last time when fifth at Ripon. He got no sort of run that day and flew home when finally finding room and while it's hard to be sure he'd have won the feeling is this six-year-old wouldn't have been far away. Off the same mark, one that saw him beaten by a head at Haydock in May, we're confident he'll run a big race. Avonrose never looked like winning at Beverley last time but she's got a lovely racing weight here and her sole success came under today's rider. First Post won nicely at Newbury and can't be ruled out off a 4lbs higher mark, as he's still unexposed and has progressed nicely of late. Habshan is 10 and therefore probably not capable of much improvement, but this likeable type was keen last time and still almost got up at Doncaster so with plenty of pace on here his chance isn't underestimated. Compton Blue has a lot to find with First Post but it's fair to assume he didn't give his running last time, Nezami hasn't won over this far and needs to improve on recent efforts while Red Somerset is a better proposition elsewhere. Club Tahiti is interesting dropped to an appropriate trip; in July last year she took third to Alsace Lorraine off this mark and that form puts her right in the mix. Several of these have claims but Jordaura deserves to win a prize this term and can do so here.
