        Verdict

        Not many of these can be given a realistic chance and the vote goes to Boris The Spider, who is preferred to Staff Nurse and Sovereign State. The selection receives weight all round and while not certain to get the trip on pedigree being by Makbul is stoutly bred on the dam's side and comes here in better form than most. Touch of Ebony has slipped down the weights of late and has still yet to win a race, while Smarter Charter is on a long losing sequence and may not retain much ability. Staff Nurse is at least consistent but has been racing against lesser opposition and this looks tougher for the daughter of Night Shift and of more interest may be Sovereign State although he has yet to prove his effectiveness on a soft surface. Another poor race then but Boris The Spider holds solid claims if staying this trip and a chance is taken that he does.
