In depth

Verdict

Carlos Du Fruitier was pulled up as if something was amiss last time at Hereford. He reverts to novice company here but is giving 6lb and upwards to his rivals and is only rated 2lb higher than Good Man Pat. Alan King’s charge was only beaten a neck over this trip at Kempton before another solid effort behind Clondaw Native at Ascot and wouldn’t be winning out of turn. Knockrobin is improving with experience and shouldn’t be ignored but APPLESOLUTELY should be hard to beat. She easily accounted for a subsequent winner on her debut under Rules at Taunton and her small stable has an excellent strike-rate. Well Smitten has a mountain to climb on what he’s shown so far.
