In depth
Verdict
A highly competitive handicap chase with plenty of the 10-runner field holding claims. Among them is the Sue Smith-trained Gregs Way who has claims if recovered from his outing on Friday (ran 4:40pm Carlisle). Topweight Passereau has the undoubted assistance of Tony McCoy in the saddle but he is basically too high in the handicap at present. Damien's Choice is entitled to improve for his recent reappearance run at Market Rasen. He has to be respected, as does Fils de Cresson, if fit for his first outing since May, however, the TEAMtalk selection has to be Thunderpoint. The 10-year-old ran a blinder on his first start or a year when chasing home Keaneo in a selling handicap chase at Hereford earlier this month and, provided he does not suffer from the bounce factor, the gelding may go one better.
