Verdict
Amateur rider races are not everyone's cup of tea and if this contest is anything to go by its easy to see why. With 18 largely moderate runners set to face the starter there will undoubtedly be more popular betting races on offer than this today. That said, several of these can easily be ruled out and it may not be as difficult a race to solve as it appears at first glance. Martin Pipe's runners always warrant respect so it would be churlish to discount the claims of the topweight Homer. Doyenne and Admiral Nelson have both run well after absences recently and, while the bounce factor has to be of some concern, they have to come into the reckoning. Charlie Morlock's Above The Cut has been running well of late and has to enter calculations but the one we like is Shifting Moon. Frank Jordan's 10-year-old got the better of the Morlock horse when winning at Stratford last month and lost nothing in defeat behind Epicure off his new mark here subsequently. A reproduction of that form should be enough for the TEAMtalk selection.
