In depth

Verdict

Finisk River has won twice at Cartmel but this drop back in trip might not suit and he is conceding weight all round. Fugitives Drift has so far proved best on sharp tracks over 2m but is bred to stay. Polish wasn’t disgraced in handicaps in the spring having won earlier over 2m5f at Ludlow while Some Spin is something of an unknown quantity having won a Limerick maiden at 100/1 in July on only his second outing. FIRAK couldn’t halt the winning run of Kepagge when odds-on at Leicester in February but that wasn’t the first time that he’d disappointed on heavy going. This better ground should see him in a better light so he gets the vote.
