In depth

Verdict

BENTHAM, three-times a winning bumper, had a couple of runs over fences before his best effort over hurdles when runner-up to Filon D'oudairies at Limerick. He was an odds-on chance that day but could have bumped into a useful sort. Belfast Banter won a bumper for Dan Skelton then made a very promising hurdling debut for Peter Fahey at Navan. He then fell when clear at Cork and his confidence looks to have been affected. The Broghie Man undoubtedly improved over timber at the beginning of the year with three second places in similar company so has to be a threat if ready after a break. Arthur Fonzarelli has fallen in two of three starts over timber but was only beaten a length in the other and there's plenty more to come.
