      Verdict

      The newcomer Alqaab cost 130,000gns but has no easy task up against three winners. Queens Gift made a winning start over 6f at Ripon but Terrier Spirit scored over the minimum trip at Doncaster on his debut, albeit in soft going. NEAREST GREEN has placed behind higher rated horses than these since successful at Newcastle at the start of the year. Kevin Ryan’s charge should have the measure of these rated 87 and can return to winning ways. Mr Wing has only finished ahead of one other horse in four outings now and is easily dismissed.

      Terrier Spirit (IRE) 16-1 (9-2) Slowly into stride, took keen hold and soon in touch, switched to race alone towards far side rail and led overall after 2f, made rest, ridden over 1f out, ran on, readily, won at Doncaster 5f stks (5) sft in Jun beating Nakhaytak (9-2) by 2l, 9 ran.

      Queens Gift (IRE) 9-2 (9-0) Dwelt, held up behind leaders, closed going well over 2f out, led over 1f out, ran on well, won at Ripon 6f mdn stks (5) gd in Jun beating Final Go (9-5) by 2l, 9 ran.
