Neville Bycroft's yard is going well and he can add another winner here with Splodger Mac, who can beat Senor Eduardo, Time To Regret and Queen Lucia. Splodger Mac remains on the same mark as when running Yorkshire Blue close over seven furlongs at Redcar last time. This extra trip will suit better, as he showed when staying on strongly to hold off Tedsdale Mac over course and distance on his penultimate start and a repeat success looks on the cards. Senor Eduardo has been keeping selling company in the main thus far, but this is not that much better in quality, and with trip and ground to suit he can also go well. Time To Regret is just 2lb higher than when defeating Zawrak by a head at Pontefract last month. Anchored in two starts since, he will find this more manageable, though there are reservations over the ground, which may be too soft for him to be at his best. Of the others, Queen Lucia will be better for this drop back to a mile and can put some indifferent recent form behind her and show us a fair bit more this time. However, she does not look good enough to win, and Splodger Mac is as confident a choice as you could get in such a race.
