Quizzene can make a winning return at the expense of the race-fit Ball Boy, with Heybrook Boy, Toldo and Velvet Heights best of the remainder. Quizzene stepped up on a promising Yarmouth debut last October when making a winning return to the seaside track in defeating Cordage a month later. The move up in trip helped, and this extra two furlongs should not be a hindrance on breeding. If Mark Johnston's charge is not fully tuned up, then Ball Boy may be the one to take advantage. Mick Channon's gelding proved that he can stay when scoring over a mile and a half on the Lingfield Polytrack in February, and is quite well related on the dam's side, with Pentire in the pedigree. The selection's stablemate Heybrook Boy turned over the odds-on Red Chairman at Wolverhampton last time, but the latter has been very disappointing so we should not read too much into the form. However, he did not get the best of luck in running at Doncaster and should not be totally ruled out. Toldo finished ahead of him in forth on Town Moor but in turn is not certain to uphold the placings on today's terms. Velvet Heights needed the run in sixth and can also be expected to come on for his reappearance at the Yorkshire track, but we feel that Quizzene has more scope than most so he is the pick.
