In depth

Verdict

This looks to be a trappy affair in which Cape of Luck, Mr Rooney and She's Our Beauty all hold solid claims and the narrow vote is given to Mr Rooney. The selection is a course and distance winner who has been running in much better races than this. He will have ground conditions to suit and he should be able to capitalise on this ease in grade. Cape of Luck rates the main danger as this colt caught the eye when making a winning debut at Sandown beating Bella Bertolini. His jockey Eddie Ahern remarked after the race that he would have won by 10 lengths had he not got left at the start. The bare form of that run is nothing special but he will improve considerably for that debut run and has to be respected. She's Our Beauty ran well in a competitive race at Redcar last time before fading close home. She is entitled to run her race again but may find a couple too good. Lake Hero and Danish Express are not without a chance but they look to have a little to find with the rest and for the winner we return to Mr Rooney.
