In depth
Verdict
Not the strongest of maidens with the David Arbuthnot-trained Tiffany's Quest the likely winner after a much more promising effort when dropped back to the minimum trip last time at Sandown. With different underfoot conditions here and given a more positive ride this time, she can defy a poor draw to win. Giles Bravery sends up Musical Sleuth, a gelding whose best effort to date came on his only start over five furlongs at Leicester in July. Admittedly, he could be better drawn, but a reproduction of that Leicester effort should see him involved at the finish here. Halo's Return has invaluable experience of the Westwood five furlongs and with Richard Fahey's yard having winners lately, he is taken to improve again this time. Penny Ha'penny almost broke her maiden tag here in August when going down by quarter of a length to Smart Hostess, and with the latter boosting the form with another good effort at Newcastle last time, Fergal Lynch's mount can go well from a good draw. Others to consider from similarly good draws are Knight Crossing, who has been running creditably, and Uproar from the Tim Easterby yard.
