In depth

Verdict

Greyfriars Abbey, Rosbay and Mighty Moon are the three to look at in this small field, and Mark Johnston, who has started the season in good form, can enjoy further success with Greyfriars Abbey. Rosbay has had a winless run since scoring at Chester in July, but his re-appearance fourth in a big field at Doncaster on his first start this year was very encouraging and he can go well for ayard who had a winner at Ripon last week. Mighty Moon has not scored since hammering his field by upwards of 27 lengths at Catterick 18 months ago. The handicapper reacted violently to that wide margin win, but Mighty Moon has retreated to a similar mark to that he won off, and he can go well also. Wins at Hamilton and Ripon at the end of last season indicated that Greyfriars Abbey was improving with racing and also for a longer trip. He steps up a further quarter of a mile here, but the breeding on his dam's side suggests this should pose no problem. Greyfriars Abbey can make a winning seasonal bow.
