        Verdict

        Oakley Absolute is hard to oppose here and is preferred to Chicken Soup and Beauchamp Turbo. The last mentioned has slipped to a fair mark and has to be respected but recent turf form suggests that Gerard Butler's gelding has too much to do. Play Up Pompey showed signs of a return to form at Goodwood last time but needs to improve, while Aggravation has plummeted in the weights but has given little sign of encouragement of late. Similar comments apply to Atacama Star and of more interest may be Jamie Osborne's Chicken Soup, who has been given a break since disappointing at Newmarket in May. The vote then goes to Oakley Absolute. Richard Hannon's Windsor winner ran up to his best when a close third behind Real Cool Cat off today's mark at Leicester last time and on all recent form he is the one they have to beat.
