Verdict

TURNING TOP can land the spoils with Fleeting Star and Raimond Ridge the most obvious dangers in the line up. The presence of Jamie Spencer at Brighton this afternoon immediately catches the eye and this looks to be the pick. The daughter of Pivotal appears to have few issues with decent ground and having raced lamentably at Newmarket last month, she showed that form line to be all wrong when producing a gutsy display in defeat at Epsom last week. Compensation awaits. Fleeting Star continues in the visor that she wore at Ascot. The handicapper gave her plenty of weight for what she achieved in her juvenile campaign so the jury is out at present. Raimond Ridge is a typical Mick Channon handicapper. Six furlongs is her trip and she does at least have experience of racing around here in the past. Rio Royale won a Salisbury handicap on firm ground off a mark of 72. She has dropped back to a mark of 75 though backers have to overlook a poor effort at Folkestone. Red Rossini and Moneysupermarket look difficult to make cases for on recent formbook evidence. Turning Top secures our nomination.
