In depth

Verdict

Another potential minefield for punters with a number of recent winners in the line-up and several yards fielding more than one runner. Jewel Maker is potentially well treated but the trip is an unknown and Tim Easterby may have a better chance with Gibside, though he isn’t certain to confirm recent form over track and trip with Graces Quest. Blistering Barney beat Molinari here last summer and is only a pound higher than when scoring at Nottingham at the end of last season but this year’s efforts have been underwhelming and he’s badly drawn for a front-runner. Regular partner Paddy Mathers also prefers Glasses Up. WOR WILLIE has been dropped a pound since finishing ahead of the disappointing Ravenscraig Castle over 1m6f at York. He should be approaching peak fitness now so gets the nod, though Dream Harder ran well against an improver at York and Sophiesticate accounted for in-form rivals at Musselburgh. Knightswood is also respected, despite his penalty.
